Came here for the first time last night with my husband and we loved the place. Super cute date spot and the food was delicious and came out fairly quick! I have food allergies (non-anaphylactic but i do get very sick) so i was worried because a-lot of places have extremely limited options for me or are unable to accommodate. We called ahead and confirmed that the fish and chips was beer battered and dairy free! We chose to sit outside and the atmosphere was amazing. We loved our waiter he was super chill. It was like 5pm when we came but the mosquitos were already swarming me. Our waiter got a candle for us which may have helped a bit I'm just very unlucky with the mosquitos so if you are anything like me you're going to need some bug spray or just eat inside. My husband and I recently moved back to the area after being away for almost 2 years. We can’t believe we didn't visit sooner. We plan on becoming regulars, it seems like the perfect go to spot!! Cant wait to try more off the menu! My husband got the grouper po boy and he loved it! The only thing i didn't love was there wasn't any pickles in the tarter sauce! but it was a very flavorful sauce! They also bring malt vinegar ketchup mustard and paper towels to the table which was great!

This restaurant is one of those places you just have to try the food. Grouper Bites (5 Stars) Cold Oysters SO FRESH (5 Stars) Oyster Rockefeller (5 Stars) Bourbon Salmon (5 Stars) Grilled Shrimp (5 Stars) Cheesy Grits (5 Stars) Grilled Shrimp (5 Stars) and the SweetButter Rum Cake is so good it’ll make you slap your mama. Our waiter Rene was amazing. Cozy atmosphere and amazing food. One of us had the Catfish, one Cajun pasta and I had the Bourbon Salmon. My friend and I shared the main dish of Bourbon Salmon and Catfish. Both were excellent. I love the Bourbon Glaze (amazing)! The Catfish had a nice mild flovor (Not the strong fishy flavor you sometimes get). I also tasted the Cajun pasta (yummy). I would highly recommend this place! Nice and clean and a great ambiance. Price also in-line with the times.
Food was amazing. Ordered all the variety of oysters and loved them all. Fried shrimp was more than impressive. Those who ordered drinks said they were really good. If I still drank, this would be a great place to relax and have a few. We came in the late afternoon so there was few customers but mostly empty - my child was really able to enjoy the outdoor area which included a grass area, hammocks, life size connect4, and a cool boat turned to music stage. Will make a trip here again when we are in the area every year.
My brother said their fish & fries were the best he had had in years. 3 of the 4 in our group had them. The piece of haddock was huge and crispy with just enough breading & well seasoned. It had a mild, not fishy taste & was flaky. Another person in our party had the shrimp & grits & loved them. The building is old, but the place is clean. (I do recommend that they replace their tattered menus.) Expect down home cooking and good service. We were from out of town, but I have the impression that this place is popular with the locals. We chose it as a halfway location to meet family and visit with them. It met our needs well.
Absolutely loved our “server” her shirt really represents our views on pedos we were really disappointed when she got pulled because of it… she was a absolute sweetheart, had drinks on the dot, and improvised my salad because of lack of bowls… she made it happen in the best way! Absolutely wished she could had served the whole table instead of being pulled mid service. Her outfit had 0 to do with her wonderful service and quick quality service.
The food was pretty damn good. I don't do seafood and still had a ton of options. The building...decor...unusual I guess. But, super interesting. Old timey. I'm a fan. What would have been a fairly nice dining experience was made a thousand times better by our server. I think his name was René and he was amazing! He explained everything so well, was super attentive and so personable! I live an hour away and I'm going back to have a hotdog and lay in the hammock with an ice cold beer soon. We had a long day and this was a great ending. Thank you René. You, like the restaurant itself, are a treasure!!!!
